I don’t believe so. I think when you join anything like that they’re still going to be pointing a finger that way. I’ve been reading a book on co-dependance and they point their finger at AA and religion, theres no getting away from it.

Yes there are, definitely. There are two different groups I’ve heard of, but for the life of me I can’t think of them right now. They were founded for the express purpose of NOT shoving God down your throat like AA.

i did not know that AA was religious..if you really want to stop i would think you could.. just go to a doctor and tell him your promblem.. they have a pill that will make you sick to your stomach if you even take a drink.. be careful that also mean cold med.. like nyquil.. but i hear it works wonders…and you dont have to go to meetings

I feel you may have received false information my friend…If you have attended an A.A. meeting you’ll know the first thing they say is that the program of Alcoholics Anonymous is in NOT allied with any sect, denomination or Religion… On the road to recovery you will eventually need to discover your own spirituality…I go to meetings with people that are wiccans,atheist, devil worshipers,etc… It’s All about staying sober and the fact that YOU probably CAN’T do it by Yourself…First things first you must admit you are powerless over alcohol and TRULY want to do something about it…
